Practice Areas

When you need legal assistance, Rachael and the team at RMP Law Office have the experience you need. We know you have lots of questions. We will be more than just your legal team, we will be your advocates.

  • Family Law is an area of law that focuses on family relationships. This could include legal issues related to adoption, marriage, divorce, custody, child support, guardianship and more.

  • Under Illinois law, a divorce is referred to as a dissolution of marriage. When choosing a divorce attorney, you are choosing an advocate that will protect your rights in matters related to your property, alimony, support, custody of children, and more.

  • For lots of individuals, a key component of a dissolution of marriage or child custody case involves determining child support. We can assist you so that the child support amount that is determined is fair and just.

  • An Order of Protection (also known as a restraining order) is a document issued by a court and signed by a judge to help protect you from harassment or abuse. If you are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.

  • A guardian ad litem (“GAL”) makes recommendations to the court based on the best interest of the child. The GAL is required to investigate the facts and interview the child and the parties. They testify or submit a written report to the judge as to what is in the child’s best interest.

  • A will is a document that allows you to transfer your property and assets to a friend, loved one, or organization that you designate. At the time of your death, and after your will has been admitted to probate, your will shall go into effect.

  • A traffic lawyer can help protect your license or save you from fines if you’re facing legal problems like speeding tickets or other moving violations.

  • If you have found yourself arrested for drunk driving and charged with a DUI, give Rachael a call.

  • If you were charged with a crime in McLean County, contact RMP Law Office right away.

Case Results

  • Rachael was able to get probation (a community based sentence) for her client who was facing 4-7 years in prison after a contested sentencing hearing. The State wanted her client to serve a minimum of 5 years behind bars. The judge agreed with Rachael and now her client is successfully going to school and providing for his children!

  • Due to a mother’s false allegations of abuse, a father hadn’t seen his children in years. The children suffered abuse and neglect while with their mother. Rachael’s client—the children's father—was awarded full custody, the children are thriving, caught up in school, and on honor roll!

  • Rachael successfully defended against an Order of Protection with several false allegations. She also got an award of attorneys fees for her client.
